Bronko Nagurski, byname of Bronislau Nagurski, (born Nov. 3, 1908, Rainy River, Ont., Can.—died Jan. 7, 1990, International Falls, Minn., U.S.), American collegiate {and professional} gridiron soccer participant who, at 6 toes 2 inches (1.88 metres) and 226 kilos (102.5 kg), was an unusally large participant for his period and its quintessential bruising fullback.
Nagurski’s household relocated from Canada to the United States when Bronislau was a younger boy, and he aquired his distinctive nickname on account of his schoolmates’ futile makes an attempt to pronounce his identify.
