Nikolay Andrianov biography
Nikolay Andrianov, in full Nikolay Yefimovich Andrianov, (born October 14, 1952, Vladimir, Russia, U.S.S.R.—died March 21, 2011, Vladimir, Russia), Soviet gymnast who received 15 Olympic medals, a file for male gymnasts.
Andrianov started his gymnastics profession at age 12, late for his sport, and commenced to coach with coach Nikolay Tolkachov, who would turn out to be his surrogate father. He was chosen for the Soviet nationwide crew in 1970, and on the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he received a gold medal within the flooring train, a silver within the crew competitors, and a bronze within the vault. Four years later, Andrianov was probably the most embellished competitor on the Olympic Games in Montreal, profitable seven medals, together with gold medals within the flooring train, rings, vault, and all-around; silver medals within the parallel bars and crew competitors; and a bronze within the pommel horse. In 1980 he got here away from the Olympics in Moscow with gold medals within the crew competitors and the vault, silver medals within the flooring train and the all-around, and a bronze medal within the horizontal bars.
In addition to his Olympic successes, Andrianov captured 12 world championship medals, together with the all-around title in 1978. He additionally received the European championships eight instances and received the World Cup gymnastics competitors three consecutive years (1975–77). His efficiency type was marked by innovation. In 1974 he launched the triple somersault dismount on the world championships in Bulgaria. After retiring from competitors in 1980, Andrianov coached at a gymnastics college named for him in his hometown of Vladimir. He was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2001.
